Game Recap, Nov 16 - Warbirds vs Mustangs

by Eli Reaves

The Ogden Mustangs would come out flying in game 2, reminding everyone why they are number one in the mountain division. Brody Simko, who is having a great year for Ogden, would get his 14th goal of the season, quickly giving the Mustangs the lead. Period 1 was all Mustangs, as Brooks Cogswell and Jiri Dunda both found the back of the net. So Ogden went into the second period with a 3-goal lead. The Mustangs would strike quickly again in the second period, with Caleb Bendell getting his 5th of the season, extending the Mustangs’ lead to 4-0. But the Warbirds wouldn't go quietly. Warbirds’ Bo Clark got his 1st of the season, and Captain Ryan Coots would score as well, making it now only a two-goal game going into the third period. Starting in the third period, Ogden would once again put their foot down when Tommy Fetterman scored on a powerplay. With 10 minutes left to go, the Warbirds’ Gavin Black would score, but it was too late to pull out the win, as Grant Hineman would seal the game with an empty net. So game 2 went to Ogden, 6-3.
