Casper Squadron Tryouts: Coming Soon

by Rhea Reaves

Do you have what it takes to become a part of the Casper Squadron, the entertainment crew for the one and only Casper Warbirds hockey team? We’re looking for a group of energetic, passionate, and sociable individuals who represent the best things about Casper Warbirds hockey. We strive for excellence characterized by hard work and dedication on and off the ice as we build not only a successful team but a wonderful community anchored by that team. Bold, authentic, fun, and invested in others… Do these things describe you? Then it's time to find out what the Casper Warbirds are all about and consider joining us!

Why Casper Squadron

Becoming a part of the Casper Squadron means getting involved in a team with a new lease on life. The Casper Warbirds are newly minted and looking to grow into a tight-knit community driven towards recreation and excellence. We’re trying to build a family around these young athletes to support them and help them on the way to their dreams with hard work and the best support we can muster. We want to make them great hockey players and even better human beings, and your role is essential to this work. Joining the Casper Squadron means having the chance to shape their community in and out of the rink with joy and energy. This is a crowd of fans that matters, and entertaining them is how you will invest in our players and their families. On top of all that, this is a job where you will be asked to have fun… professionally.

We want to create a symbiotic relationship between the Casper Warbirds and the surrounding community. They provide us players, and we provide those players with all the support they need, from top-notch training to professional supportive entertainment, which is where you come in. This will attract and cater to college scouts and give these young people a chance at successful careers, thus creating more interest in our brand and bringing in more and better players. This brings in more fans, thus creating more revenue to support the community. Out of all of this emerges an entire network surrounding the Casper Warbirds, which is constantly radiating outward.

The importance of entertainment crews in hockey

This is a chance to invest in something bigger than yourself. Entertaining and leading a crowd is good for the fans and the players. Keep fans coming back and bringing their friends with them. This will not only build a strong community for the Casper Warbirds team but also for the people of central Wyoming. We hope to create such a proud and vibrant community that its energy will ripple beyond the rink and into the homes and businesses of Casper, elevating the town and beyond. Without energy and passion in the stands, leading the fun, games will drag and morale will crumble. Supporting and encouraging excellent gameplay in our young athletes will keep them motivated and spur them on toward a bright future.

We strive to achieve excellence of action on and off the ice. That means we need your excellence so that we can focus on the potential of our young and talented players. These young people are striving to be recruited by NCAA DI and DIII schools and maybe even to advance beyond school. A community that cheers them on and supports them by showing up to games and participating with enthusiasm gives players a sense of purpose and determination like no other.

However, as a member of the Casper Squadron, you won't just be in the stands…  you will keep the fun going inside and outside of the hockey games.

Some of the things You need to do

Of course, you will be at all home games entertaining with signs and flags made specially to promote morale in the stand and between team members. Engage with fans and bring the energy all game long! This means creating and leading original chants and appealing traditions that make the fans’ experience personal and unique to them and the players they are there to support, creating a community and environment Casper residents can get excited about participating in.

However, your job is not only to keep the Casper Arena loud and exciting but also to be a brand ambassador on and off the ice in the community. The fun never stops as you participate in numerous watch parties and engaging team events outside the rink. You will be called upon to use all of your energy and social powers to create connections and grow the game. Giving our fans team-growing activities just a stone's throw away from their homes on a weekly basis will enhance their investment in the Casper Warbirds and create the kind of ripple effect community we discussed above.

This is an important job requiring the utmost dedication and the ongoing ability to engage and lift the spirits of our fans and players. It is not for the faint of heart, and we understand that. We are creating a reputation for excellence and victory through hard work and commitment. We want to give you the opportunity to be the best you can be because that allows our young team and us to do the same.
